Over the past few months, the basketball world has been taken over by someone who isn’t even a current player: Lavar Ball. For those who don’t know, Lavar is the father of three highly talented sons, one of which is soon to be a very high NBA draft pick. Lavar is also the owner of Big Baller Brand, his own apparel line. And whether you like him or hate him, you have to admit he does offer a good amount of entertainment when he opens his mouth.

But in my honest opinion, that mouth of his is the reason why his children won’t be able to sign with the “powerhouse brands” like Nike, adidas or even Under Armour. I say this because the only way he would work with these companies is if they co-branded with Big Baller Brand, like Air Jordan does with Nike.

“We’ve said from the beginning, we aren’t looking for an endorsement deal. We’re looking for co-branding, a true partner. But they’re not ready for that because they’re not used to that model. But hey, the taxi industry wasn’t ready for Uber, either.” – LaVar Bal.

Even though I and many other people feel the way we feel about his tactics, he clearly has something up his sleeves because this week, he unveiled Big Baller Brand‘s first shoe ,the ZO2 Prime. This makes Lonzo Ball, Lavar Ball’s son, the first player to have his own independently made signature shoe before he even gets drafted.

But if you are a fan of Big Baller Brand, you’ll be needing Big Baller pockets because the pre-orders for ZO2 Prime retail at $495, increasing to $695 for sizes 14 and 15. For the real Big Ballers, you can pre-order the ZO2 Wet,  a special edition autograph pair by Lonzo Ball that comes in a clear box with LED lights which retails for $995.

According to Big Baller Brand, there plan is to have Lonzo’s signature shoe be a more higher-end performance sneaker, something different from the likes of Nike, Jordan Brand, adidas and Under Armour.

As of now, the shoes aren’t scheduled to ship until November 24th so you might as well add a pair of ZO2 Slides to your order for $220.

Let me know what you think of these and Big Baller brand below in the comments.

  1. These are really not my taste, but if someone like them and wants to invest into making him rich 👍🏾👍🏾

    1. I feel like if he would’ve at least tried to make it affordable and been humble, he would get alot more support. But we’ll see.
