Since 2003, Nike has annually partnered with the OHSU Doernbecher Foundation, a children’s hospital in Oregon, to release a series of shoes called the Nike Doernbecher Freestyle Collection. And in this time, the partnership has raised over $17 million through retail and auction sales. Each year, six patients of the hospital receive the oppurtunity to create their own unique Nike sneaker and apparel. And Nike just officially unveiled those sneakers, as well as the young fighters who created them.
The 2017 Doernbecher Freestyle Collection shoe and apparel designs will be available for retail on Nike.com and at select Nike retail locations and partner stores nationwide on November 18th. Check out more info about each patient and their specific shoe below and be sure to keep up with Da Jay Way for future Nike news.
